Loch Linnhe

Fished up at Loch Linnhe at the big long stay carpark after corran on the way to fort william. then had a few hours at the fort william carpark but all that was caught at both marks were doggies and wee whiting.
still trying to catch my first thornback ray.
was using 20lb mainline with 5oz breakaway impact leads on pennel pulleys and bait was sand eel and ragworm.

Lomond double.

Back up to Loch Lomond again on monday and got this nice double 13Lb exactly. It was caught on cod with mackerel chaser,

Arrochar

went and dug ragworm for bait and headed up to a mark before the caves at arrochar. it was poring rain from start to finish with strong winds. 11 caught all in, including codling, wrasse and flounder.

Loch Lomond Pike.

visited one of my favourite spots at Loch Lomond yesterday and for the first time both me and my nephew william landed one each. Mine was the biggest iv'e caught so far at 10Lb 3oz.

Got back up here again, high tide to low tide using rag and squid. 6 cod, 1 pollack, 2 wrasse and a sea scorpion.

Another Lomond Pike

Second pike of season caught on my second outing (i,m on a roll, lol) caught on Mackerel deadbait in Loch Lomond.

managed out with nephew to a new venue for pike and looks like we found somewhere that may prove decent. we got 2 pike and lost a big one. Bait was eel,sprats and bluey's.

2 eels

I caught these two eels which are common eels but I thought they were conger. I also got one cod and a wee goldsinny wrasse.

New species for me.

a short couple of hours last night and only caught one, a new species for me... a shore rockling. no sign of any mackerel yet.

Greenock 8th June.

picked up some bait in the afternoon and headed back over to greenock and got there at high tide. caught 4 cod biggest over 2lb, a wee balan wrasse, a goldsinny wrasse and a short spinned sea scorpion. I had some bait left so went back for a hour or so today at low tide and it was much the same, no sign of the big wrasse yet and mackeral are not in yet either.

Greenock, 13th may 2015

I went to Greenock pier today after picking up some ragworm from Fintastic in Port Glasgow. I was trying for some early wrasse but they were nowhere around yet. I managed to catch a few Cod , (6), and the biggest was at 2lb 2oz. Even though I never got any wrasse it was still a good wee day.

Start of 2015 Arrochar

Got 2015 of to a start by a few hours at Arrochar on Loch Long. The caves is a mark that divers use so I was lucky to get a parking space and within 5 mins I was into my first fish of 2015 a wrasse about 1 1/2lb. I got 3 codling all about or under a pound and another ballan wrasse about 2 1/2 lb. Not a bad start to the year.

New reel

I bought a new rod and reel specificaly for wrasse. The rod is a Fladen Maxximus Rockhopper beech rod, a good strong rod for light sea fishing, 2 piece, 12 feet and casting 2-4 1/2 oz. The reel is a Shimano baitrunner ST10000RB, the 10000RA is one of the most popular reels around and a huge favorite of lots of fishermen for both sea and predator fishing, the 10000RB is just an improved 2014 version.

New species.

I went to Rhu, near Helensburgh on Sunday morning with a couple of Friends, we had 6 rods out between thye three of us and never got one fish, rags was bait. as we still had plenty of ragworm left, 2 of us headed to greenock the next morning, we caught about a dozen cod 3 wrasse and a Goldsinny wrasse, which is a new species for me and takes me one over last years total of species and we still have all winter to go.

went to Greenock today and fished the 3 hrs before low tide. caught 6 cod, 2 pollock and a new personnal best wrasse of 3lb7oz...

River Clyde at Clydebank.

Stayed local to get a few hours fishing in on sat afternoon at the new college in clydebank. used mackerel and rag as bait. I caught 9 flounders, I spinned a bit to try for any passing predetor fish but no joy.

Arrocher

I went to Arrocher at Loch Long to fish for a change from Greenock. went with my nephew and got there just before low tide. we used lug, rag and mackerel. between us we caught 8 Cod, 3 wrasse and a couple of pollock.
